Aaliyah Daniel Haughton shot to stardom in 1994 with her album debut Age Ain't Nothing but a Numer. At the age of 15, the album achieved Gold standing. The album was part of a group that was greatly inspired by R. Kelly and it placed her in the limelight. In 1996 she worked alongside Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland to release her second album One In A Million which included the top-rated hit song If Your Girl Could Only Know. Aaliyah received international recognition for her R&B vocals through this album. She starred with the martial arts legend Jet Li in the 2000 romantic-action movie Romeo Must Die. Her role came about when she was spotted by producer Joel Silver at an awards event. Queen of the Damned was her debut role in 2002. It is based off an Anne Rice novel. She also appeared as a character in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. She received four nominations at the Grammy Awards in 1999, 2001 and 2002. Aarti Mann.....................Aarti Mann also known as Aarti Majumdar is an American actor who is best known for her portrayal of Priya Koothrappali in the popular TV series The Big Bang Theory. She is an Indian-American of her first generation, who was born in Connecticut. Mann is her stage name. Mann is an abbreviation for her marriage name Mankad. Aarti Magnumdar is her formal name, but she has also used Aarti Magumdar for her stage name. While she started out with minor film and TV roles, her acting started growing in popularity around the turn of the century. The actress has also been featured in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy as well as Grey's Anatomy. In addition, she has appeared in advertisements for major brands like international car manufacturer Volvo. Her daughter is a resident of Los Angeles and is pursuing her acting.
